Health Check Procedures

  1. When you arrive at the show site, LEAVE your rats in your vehicle.

  2. Go the the Health Check area (signs will be posted), and tell the health check team that you have arrived.

  3. You will be given a number. This is the order in which you will be called up to the health check area.

  4. Leave your rats in your vehicle UNTIL your number is called.

  5. When your number is called, bring all of your rats to the health check area.

  6. Rats MUST be brought to the show in solid-sided cages such as sterilite bins (with ventilation!).  NO WIRE CAGES!

  7. If your rats pass health check, you will be given exhibitor number stickers for each rat that you will be exhibiting that day.

  8. Take all of your rats into the show area.

If Your Rats Fail the Health Check

  1. Please remember that if your rats fail the health check for any reason, it DOES NOT mean you are a bad owner, a bad breeder or a bad person.

  2. Please respect the decision of the Health Check Team.

  3. Remember that the health and well being of many, many rats depend on the decisions made by the HCT.  The team has a very big responsibility to ensure that the show is safe and fun for all exhibitors and attendees.

  4. If your rats do not pass health check, you will be instructed to immediately remove them from the show grounds. Depending on the particular circumstances, you may be able to return to the show to watch.

Rats brought to the show in wire cages WILL NOT be allowed on the grounds and that person will be asked to leave the show grounds.  But please remember to allow for proper ventilation when placing your rats in sterilite bins!  (yes, they need air holes so they can breathe!)
